According to the year-end statistics of feedchina, there are nearly 2000 effective formula products (certificates) registered in the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, and 704 products in this year alone.

In the eight years since 2013, 2020 has again set a new record high. You may be puzzled by the data. During the epidemic, foreign pet food production enterprises stopped production or logistics interruption. Why did the declared and obtained batches increase instead of decrease?
There are three reasons:
1、 As the largest export destination of pet food, China has an irresistible pet fever, which is the general trend.
2、 In addition, the declaration work lags behind. The declaration of most enterprises in the second half of 2019 may not be approved until March 2020 (during which there is nearly two months of quality review and testing time).
3、 In the first half of the year, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas [2020] No. 1 announced the simplification of the application procedures for the registration certificate of imported pet food, "the accepted registration application for imported feed and feed additives passed the material review, but if the product quality review and inspection cannot be carried out due to the impact of the epidemic, the sample review and inspection procedures will be temporarily exempted and approved on time." Up to now, some enterprises have no conditions to submit for inspection. In order to catch the express train of "simplified procedures", enterprises have worked overtime to sort out and submit materials.

In the past eight years, although the "seats" of the first camp of imported pet food have changed slightly from time to time, the formation is generally stable; The six countries with the most import registration certificates approved this year are Canada, with 125 registered products, including 86 dog food and 39 cat food; The number of registered products in New Zealand is 121, including 62 dog food and 59 cat food; The number of products registered in Belgium is 70, including 52 dog food and 18 cat food; The number of registered products in Italy is 68, including 36 dog food and 32 cat food; The number of registered products in Germany is 60, including 36 dog food and 21 cat food; The number of products registered in the United States is 54, including 33 dog food and 21 cat food.
With the entry into force of the first phase of the Sino US economic and trade agreement, the export of pet food from the United States to China has increased significantly. In 2020, the export of pet food from the United States to China has reached or approached the highest level in history. It is expected that in 2021, with the access of pet food from Japan and South Korea and the implementation of the economic and trade agreement of the United States, the seating table of the first camp may change (feedchina will interpret the relevant articles on the access of gacc General Administration of Customs).
